BENTE CHRISTENSEN-ERNST

Bente Christensen-Ernst's world of artwork is characteristically classified under Realism, but this does not fully capture the unique essence of her style; "Stylized Realism", which includes bright colors, a sense of ambiguous playfulness, and a metaphorical quality that is not found in traditional Western Realism. Bente describes her artistic process as a "love affair," saying: "I fall in love with something, it could be the color, it could be the subject, or it could be the form." Hence Art critic Tom Jørgensen’s depiction of Bente, as an "Easternized" Scandinavian.

Bente is a highly adaptable artist who was born in Denmark, but works in studios located in Antakya, Istanbul, and Copenhagen. Throughout her career, she has exhibited her work in over thirty solo exhibitions in Europe, the United States, and the Arab World.

Over the years, Bente has received several accolades, including a portrait of the Danish poet Henrick Nordbrandt being included in Denmark's National Gallery, as well as time-honored membership in the prestigious Danish Society of Artists.
