Iraqi-Dutch artist Nedim Kufi is holding his inaugural exhibition at Dar Al-Anda with a new series entitled "Virtuality". This exhibtion also marks a first for Dar Al-Anda as it will also occur online through the Artscoops Platform.
While Kufi's works predominantly explore ideas of 'home' and exile, Virtuality marks a departure for him as explores new techniques and themes. Kufi describes the inspiration behind Virtuality as follows:
"This series originated from my observation that all human beings wear proverbial masks. Behind their masks, they conceal intentions that are vary from one person to another. In the virtual self-image that a mask portrays, we seek some sort of psychological satisfaction."
Read the full manifesto for this series in English and Arabic in the Press section of this exhibition page.
Vernissage at 6:00 p.m. on March 6th. This exhibition runs until March 30th.
