Abdulqader Bakhit

With a background in caricature and painting, Abdulqader’s style and subject matter are greatly influenced by childhood and the positivity associated with it. The media he uses evolves with time, but the innocence and purity found therein are constant. Hues of primary colors dominate the majority of his work and convey a warmth that transcends to the viewer and transports him or her to a simpler time. He spends his time between Amman, Jordan and Khartoum, Sudan. When in Jordan, Abdulqader also served as Dar Al-Anda’s Art Director since 2002 till 2016.

Abdulqader was born in Majdoob, Sudan in 1966. He obtained a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Sudan in 1990. He is a member of the Sudanese Plastic Artists Union and the Jordanian Plastic Artists Association. Abdulqader was the recipient of a UNESCOAward in 1998, as well as an Al-Khurafee Biennial Award from Kuwait in 2006.
